On Good Friday, April 10th, 1998 one month’s rain fell on the Midlands in just 12 hours causing the worst flooding in decades after the River Leam burst its banks. Most of Leamington town centre was underwater and elsewhere in Warwickshire, the River Avon, the River Stour and the Grand Union Canal also overflowed.
