Statement of Faith

   I believe in:

  • The deity and pre-existence and unity of God in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit
  • The divine inspiration of the Bible as the Word of God and its consequent entire trustworthiness and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
  • The universal sinfulness and guilt of fallen humanity subject to God's wrath and condemnation.
  • The true and proper deity of Jesus, His virgin birth, His real and perfect manhood, His sinlessness throughout His earthly life.
  • The substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus at His Crucifixion as the only ground of redemption from the guilt, power and eternal consequences of sin and the justification of the sinner solely through God's grace by faith in Christ crucified and risen from the dead.
  • The awakening, re-birthing, baptising, indwelling and sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.
  • The priesthood of all believers and the call on them to serve God in the use of natural abilities and gifts of the Holy Spirit.
  • The recognition of all who are born again as part of the universal body of Christ, to whichever particular expression of that body they belong, and the pursuance of fellowship with all such fellow believers.
  • The command of Christ to all believers of all times to proclaim the gospel throughout the world, baptising new believers in water by immersion and making disciples.
  • The particular concerns of God and responsibility of the church to seek to minister in both spiritual and pastoral ways to the needy of society, (materially, emotionally, mentally, physically etc.) both in the U.K. and overseas.
  • The recognition of the reality of Satan and his kingdom set in opposition to the kingdom of God and the aims of the church, and the supreme authority of Christ, delegated to His church, over all such powers.
  • The expectation of the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory, bringing in the end of the world, universal judgement, the final defeat of Satan and the salvation of the church as the bride of Christ.
  • The full function of the five fold ministry: apostles, prophets, evangelists pastors and teachers, given to perfect and equip the saints so that they can enter into the work of their ministry; thereby edifying the whole body of Christ.
  • The church as God's instrument to establish and extend God's Kingdom until the literal coming of Christ to rule and reign over all the earth.
