The Skylight Centre is a crisis pregnancy counselling centre based in Coventry.

Few women really choose to undergo an  abortion, but the pressure of circumstances can be overwhelming. Afterwards there is often a sense of relief.

Later, maybe months or even years  after, feelings may emerge that can be puzzling or frightening. Post abortion trauma is a recognised condition & may include the following symptoms: depression, dreams about the abortion, feelings of guilt & remorse, a sense of emptiness & loss, relationship difficulties, anger/panic/helplessness,  low self-worth, emotional numbness.

The Skylight Centre serves the community by providing  a confidential service for crisis pregnancy and post-abortion trauma for women  and their partners.

• 1 in 3 British women will have an abortion
• 1 in 5 pregnancies end in an abortion
• 1 in 2 women having an abortion already have a child
• 2500 British women find they are pregnant each morning
• The  abortion rate in Coventry is 30% higher than the national average.
